Created and written by British author M.J. Elliot and set in the Golden Age of British mysteries of the 1930s, Hilary Caine is a young woman with a unique gift for solving crimes. She is employed by the English tabloid, Tittle Tattle Magazine, as their in-house Girl Detective. She solves the crime; they write the story. First portrayed in these full cast dramatizations by talented Australian actress Karen Heaven and now by the brilliant Broadway veteran Mari Nelson, Hilary is a sort of cross between Sherlock Holmes and Ellery Queen, she has an independent attitude and a gift for sometimes confusing fiction with reality:
Hilary: As I said to Sherlock Holmes at lunch the other day …
Finn: Hilary, Sherlock Holmes is a fictional character.
Hilary: Really? Then who did I have lunch with?
Hillary Caine is an exciting addition to the Jim French Productions universe of first rate modern audio mysteries.
